Fr. Eric Sundrup, S.J. is the pastor of Bellarmine Chapel. A native of Cincinnati, OH, he joined the Jesuits after graduating from Xavier University in 2003. He has worked in a variety of ministries including Hispanic Ministry, Catholic media and Catholic education.

​Melissa is passionate about building community and fostering connection, and she is thrilled to serve Bellarmine Chapel by providing office management and communication support and leadership. She grew up in the Chicagoland area and lived in various parts of the country, but she loves calling Cincinnati and Bellarmine home. Family, the outdoors and helping to make a positive impact are among Melissa’s favorite things.

Allison has a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership and extensive experience working with a wide range of institutions designing and implementing comprehensive leadership and organizational development approaches focused on personal and social change. Allison has been married to Jeff for 26 years and they have 5 children. She is passionate about her faith, marriage, family life, and social justice. Allison strongly believes that in serving others we realize our individual and collective potential.

Robby Francis (Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry)

Robby serves the youth and young adults of the Bellarmine community. He has worked with high school and college students for the past twelve years in both parish and college ministries. He is a St. Louis native but has also lived in other parts of the country. He is passionate about helping young people grow in their understanding of prayer and exploring ways to live out their faith through action.

Roberta Whitely (Interim Director of Liturgy and Music)

Roberta Whitely serves Xavier University as the Coordinator for Liturgy and Music at the Dorothy Day Center for Faith and Ministry. She has been involved in liturgical music throughout her lifetime, and has devoted much of her career to training liturgical musicians, cantors, and leading choirs. She is very excited to have the opportunity to work with the members of 
the Bellarmine staff and parish in her role as Interim Director of Liturgy and Music.  Roberta resides in Loveland with her husband, Michael, and their two children.

Jane Myers (Director of Formation and Pastoral Care)

Jane serves our community by coordinating Faith Formation for Children (GIFT) and Adults, Sacramental Formation, RCIA, Praying The Spiritual Exercises, Small Faith Communities, and more. She takes great joy in the collaborative work of forming disciples in prayer toward mission, and in writing, power-walking, tutoring and gardening. Jane and her husband Michael have three adult children.

Ed Schmidt, S.J. (Assisting Priest)

Ed is a Chicago native; he entered the Jesuits in 1960. In 1974, he began serving at Bellarmine and in campus ministry at Xavier University; he was pastor and director of campus ministry here from 1976 to 1982. After that, he worked at several Jesuit publishing offices and in province administration. He returned to Bellarmine and Xavier in October 2019.

​Tim has been a part of the Bellarmine Chapel community for 5 years, helping foster social justice and service opportunities in our parish.  He is a licensed social worker and serves as Adjunct Faculty in Xavier University's Social Work Department.  He loves gardening and exploring the world with his wife and two curious children.

MISSION STATEMENT

Bellarmine Chapel is a Catholic faith community that strives to live out the teaching and example of Jesus Christ in the spiritual tradition of St. Ignatius of Loyola.  We seek to be a parish where lives are transformed by the new and creative ways of the Holy Spirit.  Nourished at the table of the Eucharist, we are sent on mission to make disciples, serve those in need, work for justice, and welcome all with love.
