Adult Volunteers
Along with the teens and parish staff, adult volunteers are an essential life-giving component of youth ministry. Volunteers may offer long-term assistance such as regular participation/facilitation in weekly meetings, or they may provide short-term help such as assistance with a service project, sharing expertise as a guest presenter, driving for specific events, or helping with administrative tasks.
We look for volunteers who are passionate about working with or on behalf of our youth. Volunteer are mentors and role models, who listen to our young people, call forth their gifts, and journey alongside them in their faith development. We’ve been blessed with adult volunteers of all ages and from walks of life: Xavier students, young professionals, teachers, parents, couples.
If you have a passion for youth, and would like to be a part of our amazing team of volunteers, please contact Allison Borden, Director of Youth Ministry, at 513-745-4224.
Note: For longer-term volunteers, there will be an informal interview process where we will share more information with you about the various possibilities for supporting our youth programs and events. As well, we will discuss your strengths, challenges, talents and gifts and how best to put them to use in our program. If we mutually agree that a long-term volunteer position is a good fit, then the next step is completion of the required child protection training through The Cincinnati Archdiocese, called “Virtus”, which also entails a background check. There is no cost to the volunteer for either of these requirements.
