A native Cincinnatian, Richard joined the Jesuits in 1956. He spent the 70's in university life: at SUNY Buffalo where he earned a doctorate in English Literature, and at the University of San Francisco, a Jesuit campus where he was a member of the English and Humanities departments. In 1980, he became the Director of the Jesuit Renewal Center at Milford, administering its various programs, and taking part in them as a spiritual director, teacher and supervisor. After eleven years at Milford, and a 7 month sabbatical, Richard became Pastor at Bellarmine, in September 1992. He lives right next to the campus in the Xavier Jesuit Community where he was named Rector in 1998. Richard can be reached through the Chapel Office at 745-3398. top
