St.
Robert Bellarmine Parish is a Catholic congregation of about 700 households from
many neighborhoods in the greater
Cincinnati
and northern
Kentucky
area. Our presiders, as well as our pastor, are members of the Jesuit Community
at
Xavier
University
. While we are a parish of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, the spirituality of
St. Ignatius also has an effect on the preaching and mission here.
We
value our spirit of worship and hope everyone feels invited and involved. We try
to live out our discipleship through continuing faith education for youth and
adults, collaborative lay ministry, small faith communities, and by Christian
service in charity and for justice.
We
desire to be inclusive and welcoming. This task is everyone’s work, not just a
program or committee. Part of this effort is our leaning toward inclusive
language, as we can inspire this, in singing and worship. We have a tradition of
sharing parish ministries and leadership among men and women, religious and lay.
We
are especially proud of our connection to Christian ministries in developing
countries, and our membership in the AMOS Project, an ecumenical organization of
Cincinnati
congregations to work for justice out of shared faith. Each year we realize
more and more our interdependence with the rest of the city and the world.
