A Jesuit Parish…a faith that does justice, a preferential love for the poor:
As a Jesuit parish, we seek to embrace a faith that does justice and a preferential love for the poor through service, justice and relational solidarity. Parishioners respond creatively and through a diversity of ministries that serve our sisters and brothers in need in many ways. A large number of parishioners provide the time and leadership to bring life to our ministries, which have grown over the years.
Justice and Solidarity Ministries at a glance:
The AMOS Project – Since 1998, we are a member of The AMOS Project. The AMOS Project is an inter-denominational and inter-racial coalition of nearly 20 mostly urban congregations dedicated to lifting the hopes and interests of lower-income persons and congregations to create greater economic, social and racial justice in our region. AMOS offers parishioners involvement in a diverse faith setting to build a better community. Click here for more on The AMOS Project.
JustFaith Process – JustFaith is a 30-week group process of reading, videos, discussion, study and prayer together, and occasional weekend immersion experiences. JustFaith offers learning and change of heart by experiencing the gift of Catholic Social Teaching. Our JustFaith groups meet from September and through May. Click here to find out more at the JustFaith Ministries website.
Engaging Spirituality – Engaging Spirituality is a 21-week spiritual deepening process for small groups to explore “the undivided life” of Christian discipleship – practicing contemplation while immersing ourselves in the heart of a fragmented world. This process focuses on the challenges of following Jesus into the broken heart of our world, inspired by the urgency and spirit of the Gospel message in our lives, relationships and times. Our issue advocacy ministries include: the Bellarmine Dismantling Racism Team, which explores issues of racism affecting Church and society; and the Environmental Team, promoting care for God’s creation and sustainability.
