Bellarmine Chapel is committed to helping our most vulnerable neighbors all the year through, particularly during the holiday season. As part of these annual efforts, the parish holds:
- Thanksgiving Drive and Giveaway: Coordinated by our local St. Vincent de Paul Conference, we are able to distribute almost 300 bags of food and turkey vouchers to our nearest neighbors in need. Volunteers are always needed to help with the distribution via home visits the Monday prior to Thanksgiving.
- Alternative Gift Fair: Held in early December, the Alternative Gift Fair provides the wider community with the opportunity to visit over 20 vendors, featuring fair trade crafts and foods from around the world; plus jewelry, pottery and more from local non-for-profits. Live music helps create a festive, fun and socially conscious shopping experience.
- Giving Tree: Each year, parishioners take tags off our Giving Tree, purchasing over 500 gifts for families, seniors and veterans in need across the community. The parish also provides Christmas flowers and home visits to parishioners who have had a rough year or experienced a loss since last Christmas. We want everyone to have a holiday filled with joy and love. .
